My Favorites from the Loveshackfancy x Gap collection

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since 2020, you’ve probably heard of Loveshackfancy. The upscale boutique brand aims to cultivate a sense of feminine, floral, timelessness while also utilizing other aesthetics like cowgirl and southern belle. The brand has exploded since the “Preppy Renaissance” that emerged on Tik Tok in early 2020, revamping the 2012 Preppy aesthetic from Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pullitzer to Loveshackfancy and Aviator Nation. While Loveshackfancy has over fifteen boutiques around the US, and one abroad, the only thing that hinders its accessibility is the price point. Their most basic staple piece, the ruffle mini skirt retails for $225, and the prices only increase from there. Though you can find some discounted Loveshackfancy online at Saks off fifth and other discount retailers, they often sell out of sizes quickly. To make their pieces more accessible, they teamed up with Target in Spring 2020. The dresses were magnificent and maintained Loveshackfancy’s timeless styles while also creating new youthful ones.

Earlier this week, Loveshackfancy announced that their long-teased, iconic collaboration would be with Gap. This move honestly really surprised me, as Gap and Loveshackfancy seem to be very unlikely to have overlapping audiences. I was really interested to see what the collaboration would entail, knowing that last time Loveshackfancy collabed with a major retailer they really stayed true to their brand. I was super excited to see that most of the collection revolves around denim. This is really fun and novel for Loveshackfancy as denim is really something they haven’t experimented with. The face of their collection is model Ciara and her children Future and Sienna. In their preview pictures, we can already see the influences that the brands have had on each other. Some of the pieces in the collection include the iconic floral prints of Loveshack on the soft Gap Hoodies. (We all had a friend who wore those exclusively in middle school) and their floral prints on jeans. The collection drops this Friday, 8/4/23 at 9 am EST.

Starting out with this gorgeous dress. I love this and I feel like you could style this for so many different occasions. The material also looks really light and I think that this could be a great transitional piece from summer into fall when paired with a light cardigan.

I ADORE this denim mini dress and I feel like it’s super fun and youthful but also so unique from Loveshackfancy’s usual vibe. The first time I saw this dress, I imagined it styled with some statement cowgirl boots and dainty jewelry and worn to an outdoor summer concert.

This dress is super simple but still pulls off the effortlessly feminine look of Loveshackfancy. The toile print ( one of my favorites ever) is so cute and I’m obsessed with the ruffles. I feel like this is appropriate enough to wear to work but also out and about.

This wouldn’t be Loveshackfancy if there wasn’t some pink involved. This adorable cable knit sweater is giving me such Eloise at the Plaza vibes and I will definitely be picking it up. I think it will be the perfect addition for the fall and winter!

This denim tube top is absolutely perfect for anyone who has Navy or blue as one of their school colors. You could wear it on game day and then repurpose it as a going out top - the possibilities are endless due to the simplicity and the versatility.

This skirt is the cutest! I’ve been wanting a denim skirt for a while now and I feel like this cut and color is so perfect for me. I really like how this collection is weaving together versatile denim and statement prints to create a cohesive aesthetic. We have this denim skirt in the iconic pink, uniting one staple from each brand. You can see the feminine influence the designers had on this piece, but also the classic simplicity of it.

That’s all for my picks from this collaboration. I’m pleasantly surprised with the selection as I feel like these big partnerships are often a hit or miss. This one is definitely a hit in my book and I can’t wait to shop.
